The latest Android operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat has finally landed in its complete form. As a result, the Android smartphone owners are looking forward to get the official update on their devices as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the Nougat update will not be released official for all the Android handsets out there. The smartphone manufacturers would do some testing in order to figure out the smartphones that are suitable for rolling out this update. Then they would release the official Android 7.0 Nougat update only to those smartphones. When would the LG G3, G4 and G5 smartphones receive the latest Android 7.0 update? It’s the high time to figure it out.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update was released last year and LG G4 was the latest LG handset available in the market at that time. All the people who used LG G4 smartphones got the official Android 6.0 update on 21st of December. In other words, it took less than a couple of months for the LG G4 to get the latest Android update after it was released. It seems like LG would continue the tradition in this year as well. As per various records, LG is already making plans to release the official Android 7.0 Nougat update to their devices by December 2016. LG G5, which is the latest LG smartphone available in the market, would be the first handset to receive the Nougat update. Then it will take a couple of weeks or months for G3 and G4 to receive the Android 7.0 update.

However, there are some doubts whether LG G3 and G4 would receive the official Android 7.0 Nougat update or not. That’s because LG has not yet made any official announcement about it. Sometimes they would decide not to release the update to these devices because of the old hardware. However, the decision is still on the fence and LG will have to make an official announcement about it.

As you can see, LG G3 and LG G4 smartphone owners will not be able to get the OTA update of Android 7.0 Nougat by December 2016. However, they can still go to the developer site of Google and check out the factory image of Nougat. When talking about the Android 7.0 Nougat update, no significant changes have taken place after the Beta release, which took place back in March. The official release came out in August and Nexus phones have already got it. However, it will take a couple of more months for the LG devices to get it. At the moment, LG G5 is there in the list of official Android 7.0 Nougat operating system rollout. The final decision whether to release Nougat update to LG G3 and LG G4 has not yet been made so the users can still keep some little hope. However, the chances are extremely low, unless you try out the factory image through Google Developer site.
