Although many people see Adobe Flash Player as being a liability, it’s still a rather popular application for people to stream online video content. While people have been asking for the switch to HTML 5, website owners are still using Flash and looking for ways to make the transition easy.

Some website owners, however, are ignoring the potential problems that come with using Adobe Flash Player. And, they hope a fix would address the problem.  As if on cue, Adobe has released another update to address nearly 30 critical susceptibilities – Mac and Windows Version and Linux’s Here’s what the latest update addresses:

CVE-2016-4287 – addresses the integer overflow that can lead to a code execution.

CVE-2016-4272 – it’s one of several use-after-free susceptibilities that can effect a code execution, and goes along with 10 other susceptibilities:

  • CVE-2016-4271
  • CVE-2016-4279
  • CVE-2016-6932
  • CVE-2016-6921
  • CVE-2016-6931

  • CVE-2016-6930

It’s important people do updates to the latest version to reduce the chance of being cyber attacked. However, they need to make sure the update only comes from Adobe’s official website. Do not download or install any file when asked to do so. Instead, visit the official website to get the latest Flash player.

Mobile Flash Player

For people who are using Flash Player on their mobile device, they should upgrade to version 4.5.2 Adobe Digital Editions for iOS and Android to address the eight vulnerabilities that can result in a code execution. There’s a version for Mac and Windows.

It’s important to update the Adobe Flash Player to ensure your device is safe from potential hacking – something you or anyone else wants.
