Pokémon Go has been losing a lot of players lately and its makers – Niantic – have come up with two updates that will get those players that left the game back on track. These updates go by the version numbers 1.13.3 & 0.13.3 and they bring some interesting changes.
To begin with, the updates make some changes to the egg system. According to Niantic, the Eggs will have different patterns depending on the distance required to hatch them. If you’ve played the game, you probably know that there are three types of eggs in Pokémon Go which you have to hatch in order to get a Pokémon.
These eggs have 2 km, 5 km and 10 km and these kilometers refer to the distance that you have to walk in order to hatch them. Before the update all of the eggs looked the same but now, players will be able to differentiate between them based on their color. Now, the 2 km ones will be green, the 5 km ones will be orange and the 10 km eggs will be purple.
The update also comes with an added icon to the Pokémon screen which shows the player what type it is (water, ground, etc.). This was a necessary change as the last update introduced bonuses from medals which players can get only if they catch a lot of Pokémon that are of the same type. Before the update, players had to look up their Pokémon online to see what type they were.
The last change concerns the Pokémon Go Plus owners, which will now know whenever the wearable is low on battery. Before, there was no way of knowing.
While some players are not all that impressed with these changes, they are certainly small steps towards stopping players from leaving the game.
The updates will probably come to devices within a day or two.
