Android 7.0 Nougat comes with some important updates to devices that run on Google’s Mobile operating system. It seems that some OnePlus devices might soon receive the latest Android OS version.

It seems that the OnePlus Company is thinking about rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its OnePlus 3 handset before the end of 2016. Pete Lau, the head of the company, has confirmed that this update will be released for the OnePlus 3 this Christmas, so if you own this device, Santa will surely come to you this year, no matter what.

We remind you that the OnePlus 3 smartphone has been released with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and this is the reason why the company thinks that this device is ready to receive the latest Android OS version. Pete Lau has confirmed that the company is already working on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS for the OnePlus 3 devices on his Twitter account.

There are also reports which say that the OnePlus 2 is another device that will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat. However, the update will be released one month later than the OnePlus 3, which means that this will happen sometime in January 2017.

Unfortunately for the OnePlus X owners, there is no news regarding the Android 7.0 Nougat update for this device. However, you can always load the CyanogenMod on your smartphone and enable them to use the Android 7.0 Nougat, but keep in mind that an unofficial version of this OS will not function very well on a device.

There are many reasons why users already want to move from Marshmallow to Nougat and a few of them are: the new multi-window support, VR support, Quick Switch and interactive notifications.

Will you install the Android 7.0 Nougat update on your OnePlus device or wait a bit longer in order to make sure that it runs without any problems?
