Today we will compare the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Xiaomi Note 2. Even if they have similar names and they can be easily mistaken, you should know that the former was released in August 201, while the latter will be announced this month and it will cost around $590.

Displays and Designs

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has an IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 403 ppi. Its back is made of matte plastic, it’s available in five variants of colors: white, blue, yellow, pink and mint green, and it has the main camera located close to the top edge. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a bigger dual-edge super AMOLED display of 5.7-inch that supports a higher resolution of 3840×2160 pixels at 773 ppi and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Likewise the Galaxy S7, it has a glass back that gives it a premium look.



Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 features a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset, an octa-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at either 2.0 or 2.2, a PowerVR G6200 graphics card and 2GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes with a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 chipset, a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 2.15GHz and a dual-core Kryo processor clocked at 1.6GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB or 6GB of RAM.

Storages

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has been released in two internal storage variants of 16GB and 32GB, which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes in three internal storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, but there’s no slot for storage expansion.

Cameras

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 sports a primary camera of 13MP that supports phase detection autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a dual-primary camera of 23MP that features dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 12MP.

Batteries

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is powered by a removable battery of 3060 mAh, which is weaker than the 4100 mAh non-removable battery of the Xiaomi Note 2.
