Huawei hasn’t announced yet the Mate 9, but this will happen on November 3 and fans are pretty excited because the flagship is rumored to feature the same dual-lens Leica Summarit H 1:2.2/27 ASPH camera that was used for the P9. But likewise the Galaxy S7, the Mate 9 will have an Edge variant which will be named Mate 9 Pro, so basically, they will share the same specs.
No leakster was able to find out the dimensions of the Mate 9/ Mate 9 Pro, but it is certain that while the former will support a Full HD resolution, the edge variant will come with a QHD display of 5.9-inch. Also, only the Mate 9 Pro will support Daydream, which is Google’s new VR feature that was introduced in Nougat, so there will be many people who will prefer to buy this model, to be taken on incredible adventures in virtual reality.
Famous Evan Blass has posted on his Twitter account images of both the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro, and neither one of them had a 3.5 mm headphone port, which means that from now on, we’ll see more and more flagships that will use USB Type-C headphones. The USB Type-C will be found at the bottom, while up top will be placed an IR blaster Hopefully, the two speaker grills from the bottom will no longer be stereo.
Inside, components will be identical on both models. Therefore, they will be powered by the latest Hisilicon Kirin 960 octa-core 2.6 GHz Cortex-A53 processor and there will be two variants of RAM with capacities of 4GB if coupled with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, while the premium model will support 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
On the back will be placed dual 20MP Leica branded cameras with one lens that will be used to capture grayscale, while the other will be used for RGB. Leaks suggest that there won’t be any laser autofocus, but at least the aperture will be better (f/2.0). As for the front camera, it will support a resolution of 8MP.
