The third generation Galaxy J3 low-range smartphone is expected to arrive at the end of November, but Samsung hasn’t announced it yet. Luckily, its specs have been leaked months ago, being spotted at Zauba and continuing with benchmark sites. Last time, the device appeared at Geekbench, and reports suggest it will run on Android 6.01 Marshmallow. As for the price, it will be around $200, depending from country to country.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) will sport a 5-inch display that will support either 720p (HD) or 1080p (Full HD) resolution, while rumors claim that there will be two versions of displays. Since it’s a low-end phone, the phone will not pack a powerful processor, settling for a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 whose performance will be maximized by 2GB of RAM. Also, the battery will have an average capacity of 2,600mAh, just like its predecessor and most likely, it will be removable.

It seems that the primary camera will not be upgraded, so it will support the same resolution of 8MP. Also, we expect the same camera of 5MP on the front, and the exterior will be made of plastic, being available in the same three variants of colors: white, black and gold.

The current Galaxy J3 2016 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and its 5-inch display that’s protected with Asahi Dragontrail Glass supports a HD resolution. Samsung offers two variants of internal configurations: the model with a Spreadtrum SC9830 chipset is powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A7 processor, which is coupled with a Mali-400 GPU, while the other model has an Exynos 3475 chipset with a quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 processor and Mali-T720 graphics. However, both models are equipped with 8GB or 16GB of storage and support 1.5GB of RAM, with the possibility to add a microSD card to expand the internal memory up to 256GB. Both cameras of the model that uses Samsung’s proprietary chipset have lower resolutions: 5MP and 2MP respectively.
