Android 7.0 Nougat will be soon available on many current flagships. The new operating system introduces new features such as split-screen mode, Doze to Work for a longer battery life, new Settings Menu, direct boot, data saver and many more. There a few features that a few people know about and we will give a few examples below.

Inform Google That You Know A Second Language

English is the most loved language and there are many non-native speakers who have learned it perfectly. On the other hand, Americans, the British, Australians and other people for whom English was the first language, but they learned another language in the meantime, will be able to add the second language under “Talk”. After that, Google will display search results in two languages and when opening a website with text in the second language, you will no longer have to “ask” Google to translate articles for you.

Alerts Can Be Displayed Without Sound

Google has introduced the Android notification system two years ago, in Android 5.0 Lollipop and since then, it continuously improved it. Now, Nougat gives you the possibility to mute notifications by simply pressing and holding on them and choosing the option to display notifications without sound.

Screen Pinning

If you let someone play a game on your device, but you don’t want them to have access to the home screen, it’s better to use the pinning function from the security settings. After launching the app, you will tap the Recent button from the bottom right and drag the tile up. After that, you will tap the pin icon that’s found on the bottom right.

Encrypt Files

For a better security, file encryption is a reliable solution. So, by encrypting user data, during the boot process, you will no longer have to enter your PIN or unlock pattern. However, if you unintentionally restart your device, you will see that the clock will still function. But, switching from full disk encryption to file encryption can’t be done without a full wipe.
