We all love the fact that WhatsApp developers are constantly improving the app, but it seems that their last change isn’t something everybody loves. In an attempt to emulate the Facebook Messenger features, they enlarged the emojis. However, this change didn’t have the effect they counted on.
For instance, one WhatsApp user took to Twitter to express her dissatisfaction with the app upgrade. She said that she didn’t want the emoji to be huge, nor to use too many of them. Apparently, she and other users think that the new size of the emojis makes them look too interested in the conversation, which might not always be the case.
Other tweets say that the new style is “hideous” and lots of people asked for the developers to bring back the old mini emojis. However, it seems that the rest of the changes brought to the app didn’t bother the users as much.
Trying to copy Snapchat, WhatsApp also introduced the option of writing, doodling or inserting emojis on pictures sent through the app. Whenever you send a pic, there are some pop-up editing tools that appear and you can play around with them and customize the image. You can even add text and choose between an array of fonts to challenge your creativity.
Moreover, the new version of the app includes a zooming option when you record videos within the app. You just have to slide your finger on the image up and down and it will zoom in and out, respectively. Also, if you double tap on the screen the app will switch from the front snapper to the back camera. Now you will be able to open the calls you receive through the app right from the lock screen, and you can set a favorite chat as a widget or to check what unread messages you have.
