If you own any of the above mentioned Motorola smartphones, you will be able to get the official Android 7.0 update in the upcoming weeks. You will get the OTA update and you just need to upgrade the device by following instructions.
When releasing the Android 7.0 Nougat update, Motorola has made a special mentioning about Nexus 6, which they specifically made for Google. Nexus 6 would get the Android 7.0 update before the other smartphones mentioned in the list. Then the Moto G fourth generation smartphones and Moto Z smartphones would get the Nougat Android 7.0 update. The update for these devices will be delivered within the fourth quarter of 2016.
As you can see, only a selected number of Motorola smartphones are expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update from Google. This list contains some of the old smartphones manufactured by Motorola as well. On the other hand, some of the newer devices have been excepted from offering the Nougat update. They include the recently launched Motorola smartphones such as Moto E3 Power and Moto G. Moto G was released back in 2015 and Moto E3 was released in 2016. However, the engineers at Motorola believe that these phones would get unstable when they are provided with the Android 7.0 Nougat update. As a result, people who own those smartphones will not be able to get the latest Android update, even if they have newer smartphones.
Motorola was one of the first few companies to offer Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, when it was released during last year. They have made plans to do the same with Android 7.0 Nougat as well. In fact, one of the key objectives of Motorola is to deliver timely and fast updates to all its users. Motorola smartphone owners can also think of following their blog in order to keep track of all the future update information. Even though the actual arrival date of Android 7.0 Nougat update is not specified, people who own smartphones that are mentioned in the above list will be able to get it before the end of the year.
