We have to admit that the budget tablets are in quite a tight competition these days. Among the most popular ones these days are the Amazon Fire HD 8 and the Fire HD 10. Honestly, they are both really affordable and they offer lots of money, having some exclusive features for Amazon. However, which one should you choose?

When it comes to dimensions and design, both devices look like a thicker eBook reader. Amazon went on to the same design for both: sharp edges, conservative design and a classic look for a tablet, with thick bezels that help you have a better grip. Fire HD 8 (2016) is 214x128x9.2 mm big, while the Fire HD 10 is 262x159x7.7 mm, being significantly thinner because of the bigger screen.

Display and hardware. Fire HD 8 runs on a quadcore 1.3 GHz processor, together with 1.5 GB RAM. Indeed, it’s not such a huge power, but you can rest assured that all apps and games you need will run smoothly on it. After all, it’s just a tablet. It offers 16 or 32 GB internal memory and you can expand it via an SD card. The main camera it offers is 5 MP and you can record 1080p videos. The front camera is suitable for video-chat, recording 720 p videos. Moreover, you get some stereo speakers with it.

Fire HD 8 also has a 1280×800 resolution display, which is perfect for an 8-inch tablet. You can see some pixelation, but not enough so as to disturb you. Meanwhile Fire HD has 10.1 inches of IPS LCD screen and a 1280×800 p resolution. This is great if you want to watch long movies and to surf. Moreover, you can even work in Microsoft Office since you are able to see an Excel or a Word document.
