Gamers may have waited a while for the fifth installment in the Gears of War series which is actually named Gears of War 4, but they finally got it today.
Those who bought the standard edition in the UK, US, Australia and other parts of Europe will now be able to get the game for Xbox and PC, but they won’t be able to play it until later this week. The dates for the game unlocking for each country can be seen on the official site.
At the same time, Microsoft announced that an update for the game is already going live that will improve the Gear Packs System and the Credits.
The Coalition – the developers of the Gears of War series – have stated that some of the changes included in the update was based on data monitoring and the feedback received from players who got the Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition which was launched last week, for the US and Canada.
As a result, this are the exact changes that will come to the Credits and Gear Packs. Firstly, the Elite Pack Credit cost was reduced to 3500 and secondly, the Match Bonus Credits received in Versus Multiplayer Matches have increased. In the latter situation, it’s also worth mentioning that the credits wil be received whether you win or lose. The purpose of the second change intends to provide a more consistent Credit earn rate across modes.
This new installment in the Gears of War series is set 25 years after the Imulsion Countermeasure weapon incident and JD Fenix along with his friends have to rescue their loved ones and find the source of an evil force. You may ask why call it ‚4’ if it’s the fifth game in the series? Because there was another game in between Gears of War 3 and Gears of War 4, named Gears of War: Judgement.
