WhatsApp version 2.16.300 has just been released for Android devices and it comes with support for Giphy and Tenor. However, you will not be able to see Giphy and Tenor yet to search for GIFs, but it seems that soon enough they will be activated by the developers.

Giphy and Tenor are two platforms that are hosting a good amount of GIFs. In other words, if you are searching for a particular GIF, then there are high chances that you will find it on either Giphy or Tenor.

The WhatsApp version 2.16.300 APK file has been increased by 53KB, it has over 1110 modified files, most of them being optimizations for emoji and icons, but there are also a few files related to Video Calls and internal players that will be soon activated. In addition, two icons related to Giphy and Tenor have been added (ic_attributes_giphy.png and ic_attributes_tenor.png) and it is just a matter of time until we will finally be able to use these two platforms to search and send GIFs on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp version 2.16.300: How To Install On Android

Before, you had to manually download the WhatsApp APK (installation) file from the internet, in order to install the latest BETA version of the application on your Android handset. However, since a few months ago, we can find the latest WhatsApp BETA version on Google Play Store.

This can be done only after you become a WhatsApp BETA Tester and you can do this by opening this Google Play Store webpage and tapping on the “BECOME A TESTER” button. Finally, you will be able to search for the WhatsApp 2.16.300 update on the official Android store and install it on your smartphone.

HINT: Keep in mind that since the WhatsApp 2.16.300 is currently in BETA phase, you might find bugs and issues which should be reported to the developers so that they can fix them before the next version of the application is released.
