A new WhatsApp BETA version has been released for Android devices. The WhatsApp 2.16.299 can now be downloaded and installed on your Android OS smartphone, but we will explain you later how you can do this.
First of all, you should know that the WhatsApp 2.16.299 comes with a new feature which finally allows you to send GIFs directly from your gallery. In other words, you will be able to create GIFs and send them as well to all your friends from WhatsApp.
In order to send a GIF on WhatsApp, you will just have to tap on the icon for sending multimedia (clip) and head to gallery. Here you will see 3 tabs (GIFs, Photos and Videos) and in order to create a GIF you will need to record a video from WhatsApp (or take it from Gallery), cut it to last about 6 seconds maximum and, finally, tap on the camera icon to change it to GIF and send it.
The installation file of the WhatsApp 2.16.299 has been decreased by 54Kb, it has over 1090 files modified, which include emoji, icons and more. In addition, the activity_deprecated_device.xml file has been deleted.

The WhatsApp 2.16.299 is currently in BETA phase and this means that in order to install it on your Android device you will need to become a WhatsApp BETA Tester. To do this, you will need to open this Google Play Store webpage and tap on the “BECOME A TESTER” button.
Once you do this, you will enroll into the WhatsApp BETA Testing program which will allow you to install the WhatsApp 2.16.299 directly from the Google Play Store. After installing the latest WhatsApp BETA version on your Android device, use your mobile phone number to get verified and log into your WhatsApp account.
