“Will my phone get the Android Nougat update?” This is one of the most common questions that Motorola fans have asked since Android 7.0 was released on August. Fortunately, Motorola has provided the answer through the post that was published on its official blog on October 4.
In the blog post, Motorola gave the full list of devices that will get the much-awaited Nougat update. These include the Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 as well as the Moto G 4th generation, Moto G Plus 4th generation, and Moto G Play 4th generation. Along with the list of models that will receive Nougat, Motorola announced that they will start rolling out the update for Moto G 4th generation and Moto Z in the last quarter of the year. Considering that this quarter has already begun, many are wondering if the rollout will happen this October. However, it’s highly likely that it will arrive in November or December, considering that Motorola needs enough time to adapt the update to their device’s specific builds.

Those who have older devices will not enjoy Nougat features, along with those who own new Motorola devices that are not set to receive the update. These include Moto G 3rd generation (which was released in 2015) and Moto E3 Power (which was released just this year). Motorola has not given an explanation as to why these new models were not included in the Nougat update list.
