If you’re a hardcore console gamer you’ve probably heard all about the consoles on the market and you probably know that there are two of them about to be launched that will surely change the way gamers perceive game graphics.
Those two consoles are the Sony PS4 Pro and Microsoft’s Xbox Scorpio and they are both said to come with HDR, VR and 4k content support.
However, the two devices could not be more different especially in terms of rumored specs and performance and it is this difference that may help you decide if you wish to buy one or the other.
Sony’s PS4 Pro is presumed to come with an octa-core processor, an AMD Jaguar CPU and 4.2 teraflops of power. It is also said to sport 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage space. On the other hand, the Scorpio console form Microsoft is believed to some with an octa-core processor and 6 teraflops of power. Given these rumored specs, many tech analysts doubt the 4k quality offered by the PS4 Pro could ever rival the one offered by Project Scorpio.
As to what VR gaming support is concerned, Project Scorpio would also be the best choice given its far more capable specs but it doesn’t have a VR headset partner just yet, like Sony’ PS4 is about to have. The Sony PS4 VR headset is said to be ready for launch and that it will happen on the 13th of October.
The Sony PS4 Pro will come out in 2016, while the Project Scorpio is confirmed to be scheduled for launch in 2017 and some tech bloggers believe that the latter being launched next year will give Microsoft the opportunity to incorporate newer tech into it.
Lastly there is the issue relate to price. The PS4 Pro is confirmed to be priced at approximately £350, while the Project Scorpio is believed to be priced at £600.
