It is time to battle it out between two competing mobile devices namely Samsung’s Galaxy J7 Prime and J7 2016. If you are going to decide which device is more superior to the other, it may not be an easy decision to make. Therefore, here are some notable differences or similarities of these two smartphones from Samsung to help you out.

  • The Display

The superiority of Samsung devices are most often measured by their toughness in terms of display quality. So, when a device has a super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen just like the Galaxy J7 2016, it should be more superior to the one with just an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen of the Galaxy J7 Prime, right?

Anyway, both of them have the same screen sizes at 5.5 inches with slightly the same screen-to-body ratio. However, the Galaxy J7 Prime gains an advantage in this feature because it has a higher resolution of 1080p compared to that of the J7 2016 with 720p. Nevertheless, the J7 Prime has a higher pixel density of 401ppi, while the other only has 267ppi.

Moreover, the J7 Prime has a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 as a sort of protection for its screen. So, even without using a super AMOLED display, the hard material of the glass keeps the screen protected.

  • Platform Features

The operating system is what matters most for many people. So, many of them always make sure that the devices they purchase are updated to the latest Android version. Or, at least they have an option to update them over the air.

Well, there is always reason to celebrate when it comes to Samsung devices because they are always releasing the one with the latest firmware version or nearly so. Anyway, both devices are already running the Android OS v6.0.1.

The CPU of the J7 Prime has the octa-core 1.6GHz Cortex-A53, while the J7 2016 also has the octa-core but a combination of 4 cores by 1.6GHz Cortex-A53 and another 4 cores by 1.0GHz Cortex-A53.

  • Notable Phone Features

When it comes to sensors, the J7 Prime might be a bit on the advantage because of the sensor capability that gives the device an edge over the J7 2016. For one, it is capable of reading fingerprints as an added feature for security. Although both devices house a 3300mAh battery on each, the only downside for these models is the non-removable batteries on both ends.

  • Camera Features

Perhaps one of the most anticipated parts of a mobile device is the camera resolution. So, if a camera has a poor quality output, it will cause a huge drop in salability. That is why older Samsung devices are still able to keep people excited about the camera because of that.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and the J7 have the same primary camera resolution of 13MP, but they differ in terms of secondary or front-facing camera. This is because the front-facing camera of J7 Prime is using the 8MP, f/1.9, while the J7 2016 only uses the 5MP rear-facing camera.
