Sharing is caring!

The phenomenal mobile app game Pokemon Go is showing no signs of slowing down, and game developer Niantic is continuously looking for ways to improve gameplay experience. Its latest update brings in some new features and brings back some old ones.

What the Pokémon Go Update 0.39.0 for Android and 1.9.0 for iOS Offers

Capture location

This feature is making a comeback, which made plenty of avid fans jubilant. It was a part of the game in the beginning, but was later removed during a previous expansion. More to the point, it got the silent axe when Niantic removed the faulty Pokemon tracker.

What this does is to give you the ability to see where you caught your Pokemon. It uses Pokemon Go’s GPS data to mark the area on a mini map where you caught each monster. The information is contained on a monster’s profile screen, and trainers like you simply need to revisit the critter’s screen to get the details.

Pokemon Go Plus and Incense

For the uninitiated and novice trainers, Incense is an in-game feature that works like a magnet, bringing or summoning Pokemon to a trainer’s location, rather than the other way around. In the latest update, using the Incense was made more user-friendly with the use of the Pokémon GO Plus accessory. Before the 0.39.0 update for Android and 1.9.0 for iOS was rolled out, Trainers are not notified of nearby critters that were attracted by the use of incense. They also couldn’t catch monsters that spawned because of incense use. But the latest update just made things a lot easier and more enjoyable for everyone.

Minor bug fixes

The update also fixed minor bugs, especially those that caused the game to freeze when the screen loads, and slows down speed during gym battles. The gameplay has significantly improved.

Niantic promises fans of “exciting features and changes coming soon”. The game developer also appreciates that the functionality of Pokémon GO Plus wearable devices has great potentials when improved. Rumor has it that the same functionalities will be present in the Pokémon GO’s companion app for Apple Watch, and, of course, to Android Wear.

With exciting features on the horizon, you should perfect your training. How about working on that Gunk Shot?
