Square Enix first revealed the remake of Final Fantasy 7 at E3 2015 and has kept quiet about the game ever since. Final Fantasy 7 was absent from E3 2016 and new reports state that gamers shouldn’t expect to see any major news about the game this year as Square Enix is currently dedicated to Final Fantasy 15.
When the game was first announced in 2015, the game was only in the early stages of development and current sources state that Square Enix is cautious about growing hype for the game; the developer wants to avoid hype that could cause players to gain unrealistic expectations for the game.
It has been revealed however that the Final Fantasy 7 remake will be released in three parts which will each be a new segment in the story. There have been no details about how this will work and what parts of the story each segment will contain however fans have already begun speculating about this.
Considering this is a remake of Final Fantasy 7, the developers will most likely keep to their regular strategy for the series and avoid making major story changes for the remake.
Current rumors suggest that the first part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake will be released by 2018 and that the next parts will be released as an annual installment. If this is the case then players should expect each segment to be filled with a large amount of content with a potentially expanded storyline.
