The release date for the new Battlefield and Call of Duty games are quickly approaching and the debate over which game is better has started up once again; these two FPS series have been going head-to-head for years and the debate seems to be particular intense this year.
Battlefield 1 is taking gamers back to World War 1 for the first time in it’s history and features a wide range of classic and historical weapons that fit the era. Players will be able to ride horses, historical military vehicles and even Zeppelins as they fight with classic weapons including mustard gas.
A beta was held for the game recently and the response from players was somewhat average with players criticizing the combat in the game.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on the other hand is taking gamers far into the future that originally angered fans as they believed it brings the series close to the Halo franchise. Since then, the original trailer has become the most liked COD trailer in history and the response from fans who have played the demo’s have been mostly positive.
This year, the developers are moving their series in two very different directions and the response from gamers so far has been very mixed for both games. These two games will have a lasting impact on the current trend in FPS games and could cause developers to move more towards science fiction or historical settings for their games.
Battlefield 1 is due for release October 21st and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be released two weeks later on November 4th.
