The upcoming slimmer and revamped version of the PS4 – the PS4 Neo is expected to be released this month along with the PlayStation VR headset. Here is what we know so far about the device.
PlayStation 4 Neo is expected to live up to the name that Sony has on the console market share. At the moment Sony is the international leader on the console market with 40 billion units of PS4 sold. Fans of the PS4 are very excited about the upcoming console, but Sony hasn’t said very much about the device up until now. All they did was announcing it and make some comments about the quality of its 4k video support.
As previously mentioned, PS4 Neo is not exactly a new console – it’s not something that was designed to be a game changer. It’s simply an improved version of the already existing PS4 and it’s also slimmer and features more powerful components that will definitely improve the graphical experience.
The purpose of this device seems to be the replacement of the original PS4 on the market, even though the two consoles have been said to be able to co-exist. It’s very hard to believe that this upcoming one will offer a far better gaming experience and this is the main reason why people buy them.
It is reported to support 4k content which is the latest type of resolution out there and this means that players will enjoy a better visual experience. It will presumably come with a faster clock speed than the original PS4 which is 2.1 GHz. It is also said that the PS4 Neo will come with a more advanced GPU that will have 36 compute units which will run at 911MHz.
Lastly, the PS4 Neo will certainly cost more than the original PS4 because it will be aimed at those high-end gamers who want to enjoy 4k content.
