We have been telling you of the upcoming updates for Motora Nougat these past weeks, yet we have been vague about when exactly the update is coming.
Well, earlier this September, Motorala announced that its smartphones under the Razr brand, including the Droid Razr HD, the Razr M, and the Razr Maxx HD, will all be using Google’s Android operating system. And just recently Motorola hinted that it will an Android 7.0 Nougat update on its phones at per-batch basis.
A report from Mobipicker has it that the first ones to receive the update will be the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force, and these will be followed by Moto X Style, Moto X PLay, and Moto X Force.
The G series will come there after, including the Moto G4, the Moto G4 Plus, and the Moto G4 Play. By the way, Tech Radar has confirmed that the Moto G4 Plus will indeedy get the Nougat update, so there’s no question about the device being included in the list now.
The last batch of smartphones that will receive the update will include the Moto E Gen 3, the Moto E3 Power, and the Moto G 2015. Unfortunately for the 2014 devices, none was mentioned to get the Nougat update.
First batch to get updated early in October…
The company has actually not released an official statement about the incoming batches of updates yet, but rumors have it that Android 7.0 Nougat is said to be coming to Motorola in the first week of October this year.
At this point, the only choice you have left is to wait. Motorola might releasing a timetable for the Nougat update anytime soon. And while waiting for the official release dates, check out the new features that could come with the update.
