A new WhatsApp BETA version has been released for Android devices. First of all, you will need to know that the latest WhatsApp BETA version for Android devices is 2.16.278 and it can now be downloaded and installed on your Android device via the Google Play Store. The WhatsApp 2.16.278 BETA for Android devices comes with bug fixes, performance improvements, but also with a nice surprise: new icons for video calls. In other words, the Video Calling feature will most likely be released for the application sometime in the near future.
The WhatsApp 2.16.278 APK (installation) file has been decreased by 10KB, it has over 1160 modified files, most of them related to optimizations, icons and emoji.
In addition, 5 new icons have been added and all of them are related, as we’ve told you above, to the video calling feature.

After doing this, open the official Android store, search for WhatsApp 2.16.278 and finally install it on your smartphone.
HINT: The WhatsApp 2.16.278 is currently in BETA phase, which means that you will probably find bugs and issues while using this version of the application. In other words, if you want to use a bug-free WhatsApp application, we suggest you to install the STABLE version of it.
