Since the release of Sims 4 in 2014, rumors about the next Sims version or Sims 5 have already been ongoing and just barely two months ago, talks on whether there will be PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game have also surfaced.
Senior Producer for the Sims 4, Lyndsay Pearson have already come up with an official tweet dispelling rumors of a console version of the The Sims 4 and also asked fans not to believe the reports. Her exact words were, “I want to clarify that we have no plans for a console version of The Sims 4 anytime in the near future. Ignore the rumors”.
But one thing is for sure, game developers EA and Maxis have improved the gaming experience for The Sims 4 with the next paid DLC coming out on the first of November. This development re-ignited the rumors of “The Sims 4” to be offered on game consoles in the future.
Fans of the PC-based game are still looking forward to PS4 or Xbox One versions of the Sims series despite the failure of The Sims 4 to win the hearts of gamers. The release in 2014 resulted into poor sales and there were talks that the absence of a console version was one of the culprits.
Sony PS4 Pro
Sony Playstation 4 Pro will be released this year and its improved graphics are said to work well with Sims. But some technical issues related to porting “The Sims 4” have made the possibility of playing the Sims on this platform unlikely.
Console Idea on Sims 5
Another rumor circulates that the game developers might be planning to come up with a console version for the next installment in the Sims series and this is the reason behind “The Sims 4” on PS4 and Xbox One has been disregarded.
In the meantime, fans will just have to enjoy the Sims 4 update with the City Living Expansion in a couple of months.
