The CEO of Niantic has officially confirmed that Pokemon Go players can expect to see legendary Pokemon coming to the game very soon however, he hasn’t commented on Ditto which is still missing from the game.

CEO John Hanke has confirmed that new Pokemon will be added to the game through events which will take place all over the world and in a wide range of regions at the same time; no other details about how this will work have been revealed.

There’s been no official confirmation of when players can expect to see these Pokemon being added but considering the recent news about Generation 2 Pokemon, players should expect to see them coming very soon.

Some players have suggested that Niantic will place level limits on capturing legendary Pokemon and others expect that there will be several events for each legendary Pokemon; neither of these fan speculations have been confirmed yet by Niantic.
