Niantic has released a new update for Pokemon Go on Android and players can download version 0.37.0 can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Actually, in some parts of the world, many players have complained that the roll out of the update has stopped, but what’s important is that it brings Buddy Pokemon.
The Buddy Feature was listed on the Google Play Store, but the version number of the update that was uploaded yesterday is missing. On the other hand, the Pokemon Go 1.7.0 update for iOS users was delayed because of the launch of iOS 10, but it’s still not live, although Niantic had in mind to bring both updates for the two versions as close together as possible.
It seems that the Pokemon Go 0.37.0 update for Android is rolled out gradually, but not depending on regions, and players should manually check, just in case, to see if the update is available for their Gmail account. On the other hand, the APK was already uploaded on the internet, and players can download it from secure websites. Unfortunately, iOS users still need to wait until the release of 1.7.0 update, but maybe a miracle will happen in the next few hours.
Pokemon Go players who have an Android smartphone will be able to use the new Buddy feature and discover an Easter egg, but there could be hidden much more Easter eggs in this feature. And if they will walk Pikachu for 10 km, the cute monster will change from the ground to player’s shoulder.
The bad news is that the new update can’t be installed on a rooted or jailbroken device, and this has infuriated the Android community. Luckily, there are some functional methods that allow Pokemon Go to run on Android devices, such as the Xposed Framework with the RootCloak Module.
The Pokemon Go is still a very popular game, even if the hype has decreased. Until now, it has been downloaded 500 million times and soon, when the Pokemon Go Plus wearable will be released, we’re pretty sure that many gamers will buy it to be alerted when a Pokemon is nearby.
