There are two days left until the official release date of iOS 10 and owners of iPads, iPhones and iPods can’t wait to update their devices. The new operating system will roll out in phases, starting on September 13, and it will bring many new features that have been introduced in betas and tried out by users who enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program.
This is the full list of iDevices that will receive iOS 10 in the next days: iPhone 6s, 6s, 6 Plus, 6, SE, 5s, 5c and 5; iPad Pro 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 4, mini 3, mini 2 and iPad 4; the sixth-gen iPod Touch.
Users who will not want to wait until their devices will get an alert from Apple that the software update is ready to be installed, will head to Settings > General > Software Update > iOS 10 and if they see the Install now option, they will tap on it and follow the instruction to finish the installation process. It’s important to back up important data before installing the new update, because it will be lost after the upgrade, and to have at least 50 percent battery left, so it won’t die during the installation process.
On the other hand, the Gold Master version of iOS for developers has been released on September 7 and it can be downloaded from developer.apple.com, where there’s an Account tab on which users will tap and they will sign-in with their Apple ID and password. Then, they will click on Discover and then they’ll tap on iOS and they’ll see a blue download button on the top right. The list will have iOS 10 on the third position and when tapping the chevron – on the right, the view will expand and the Download option will appear beside Configuration Profile. The next step is to head to Settings > General > Software Update, follow the instructions and complete the installation process. Finally, the device will be rebooted and will run on iOS 10.
