Today we will compare the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 and Huawei Honor 8, two smartphones that have been released in April and July 2016, respectively, and which come with some pretty good specifications that are worth being mentioned.

Designs

The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 measures 151.7x76x7.8mm and weights 170 grams. It uses a plastic rear panel with a brushed metal effect, which is available in colors such as White, Black, Gold and Rose Gold, and has a metal frame. On the other hand, the Huawei Honor 8 is slimmer and lighter as it measures 145.5x71x7.5mm and weights 153 grams. Its back is made of reflective glass which is slightly curved to create the 2.5D effect from the iPhone.

Displays



The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 comes with a super AMOLED display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 267 ppi. The Huawei Honor 8 has a smaller LTPS display of 5.2-inch that supports a higher resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 423 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is being sold in two variants, as follows:

– Chipset: Exynos 7870 Octa or Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617;
– Processor: octa-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.6GHz or a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.0GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.6GHz;
– Graphics card: Mali-T830MP2 or Adreno 405;
– RAM: 2GB of RAM.

The Huawei Honor 8 features a HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.

Storages

The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 has been released with an internal storage of only 16GB, but you can expand it up to 256GB using a microSD card. The Huawei Honor 8 comes in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 sports a primary camera of 13MP that features LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama, face detection, HDR and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Huawei Honor 8 has a dual-primary camera of 12MP that features dual-LED flash, laser autofocus, geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, face detection, touch focus and a secondary camera of 8MP.

Batteries

The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is powered by a removable battery of 3300 mAh which is weaker than the non-removable battery of 3000 mAh that the Huawei Honor 8 comes with.
