The Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 has been released in March 2016, while the Apple iPhone will come later this month. Today we will compare these two handsets and let you decide which one you want to purchase.
The Galaxy J5 2016 measures 145.8×72.3×8.1mm and weights 159 grams. Its back looks like it’s made of metal, but actually, it’s plastic with a brushed metal effect. The back is curved on the edges and it’s available in colors such as White, Black, Gold and Rose Gold. The iPhone 7 is slimmer and lighter as it measures 138.3×67.1×7.1mm and weights 138 grams. There are minor differences between the iPhone 7 and the 6s. For starters, it’s available in two new variants of colors: Jet Black and Black. Also, the antenna bars were moved to the top and bottom edges and the 3.5mm headphone jack was removed.
The Galaxy J5 2016 comes with a super AMOLED display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 282 ppi. The iPhone 7 has a smaller LED-backlit IPS LCD display of 4.7-inch that supports a higher resolution of 1334×750 pixels at 326 ppi.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The Galaxy J5 2016 features a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 306 graphics card and 2GB of RAM. The iPhone 7 comes with an Apple A10 Fusion chipset, a quad-core processor, a six-core graphics card and 2GB of RAM.
The Galaxy J5 2016 has been released with an internal storage of 16GB which you can expand up to 256GB using a microSD card. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 comes in three internal storage variants of 32GB, 128GB and 256GB, but it doesn’t feature a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
The Galaxy J5 2016 sports a primary camera of 13MP that features LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and a secondary camera of 5MP. The iPhone 7 has a better primary camera of 12MP that features phase detection autofocus, OIS, quad-LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 7MP.
