Apple was expected to release its iPad Mini 5device on September 7, 2016, but for some reason, that didn’t happen. Instead, the company has announced only its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus handsets, which come with some pretty impressive specifications.

It seems that a few things have been changed on the official Apple website in terms of iPads. Compared to “cached” page before the event, the specifications and pricing of a new iPad models have changed, as the storage capacities for both iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 4 are different.

The iPad Air and iPad Mini 4 are not sold anymore with an internal storage of 16GB, which means that if you still want to purchase any of these two devices, you will have to purchase the 32GB internal storage variants.

At the same time, the iPad Pro has also received some storage changes, but at the same time, it its price was reduced. For example, if you want to purchase the iPad Pro 12.9-inch variant you will notice that there is a price cut from $50 up to $100. While the price reduction is not that big, this clearly shows that Apple is now preparing to release the new iPads, including the expected iPad Mini 5.

According to rumors, the iPad Mini 5 will receive a Series 7000 aluminum casing, which is the same material that has been used for the case of the iPhone 6S. The new casing will make sure that the handset is lighter, but it will also offer a stiffer body. When it comes to the overall design, the iPad Mini 5 will be quite similar to the iPad Mini 4 and it will most likely feature a 7.9-inch Retina display.

The iPad Mini 5 is expected to be released with an A9 or M9 processing chip, 3D Touch feature and the base model will include 32GB. Unfortunately, there will be no upgrades made to the camera department and Apple might also decide to remove the headphones jack, like it did on the iPhone 7.

The iPad Mini 5 is expected to be released sometime in early 2017.
