When the Android 7 Nougat update was released to the public, many Android mobile device users got excited, including Xiaomi fans. Actually, this has happened to many users who have not received major updates in a timely manner. For now, the only Xiaomi device that is expected to receive the new Android 7.0 update is the Mi5. However, more devices will also be expecting this same update, including the Redmi Note 3, Mi4C, Mi4S, Redmi 3/3S/3A, Mi4i, Mi Pad 2, Mi Max, Redmi 2 Prime, and Mi Note/Pro. This new update will be rolled out over-the-air. Additionally, download links will be provided for those who want to flash the update.

The company has been developing its own custom MIUI ROM, bringing in new customization options and features in comparison to the MIUI 7 ROM. However, Xiaomi has been very careful not to ruin the experience by disallowing major Android updates for users in time.

Android 7 Nougat OTA Release

The Android 7 will first be available over-the-air for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P flagship smartphones. This will then be followed by a number of OEM devices such as Asus, HTC, LG, Huawei, Motorola, OnePlus, and ZTE, among others.

The mobile devices presented here are assumed to receive the said updates but the company will still be announcing the official devices due for upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat firmware. If you have a Xiaomi device, it will still be subject for the announcement to be made by the company itself. Rumors regarding this release might require confirmation from the officials running the organization.
