Today we will compare two rival phablets, the controversial Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which had a few incidents with batteries exploding, and the freshly unveiled Apple iPhone 7. Depending on the preferences, fans will stick to Apple’s iOS, while others will continue to use Android and give Samsung’s another chance.

The Galaxy Note 7 measures 153.5×73.9×7.9mm and weights 169 grams. It’s very similar to the previous model, featuring a glass back and a metal frame, but it has a screen that curves around the edges and the interior is protected against dust and water. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 Plus is slimmer and heavier as it measures 158.2×77.9×7.3mm and weights 188 grams. It’s available in two new colors: Jet Black and Black and the horizontal antenna lines have been moved to the top and bottom edges.

The Galaxy Note 7 comes with a super AMOLED display of 5.7-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 518 ppi. The iPhone 7 Plus has a smaller LED-backlit IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a lower resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The Galaxy Note 7 features an Exynos 8890 Octa chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.6GHz and a quad-core Mongoose CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, a Mali-T880 MP12 graphics card and 4GB of RAM. The iPhone 7 Plus comes with an Apple A10 Fusion chipset, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.23GHz, a six-core graphics card and 3GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Note 7 has been released with an internal storage of 64GB, but don’t worry because you can expand it up to 256GB using a microSD card. The iPhone 7 Plus comes in three internal storage variants of 32GB, 128GB and 256GB, but it doesn’t feature a microSD card for storage expansion.

The Galaxy Note 7 sports a primary camera of 12MP that features OIS, LED flash, phase detection autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, auto HDR, panorama, face detection and a secondary camera of 5MP. The iPhone 7 Plus comes with a dual-primary camera of 12MP that features phase detection autofocus, quad-LED flash, OIS, 2x optical zoom, HDR, face detection, touch focus, geo-tagging and a secondary camera of 7MP.
