Pokemon Go is getting more and more interesting with the recent release of the Pokemon Go Plus wearable that vibrates whenever a trainer is close to a Pokestop or a Pokemon. By now, many of you trainers have probably reached the game level 5 and can now battle Pokemon in Gyms.

This XP gaining is a very important aspect of being a Pokemon trainer because the more XP you have, the more chances there are of you discovering higher CP Pokemon or rare Pokemon in the wild.

At the same time, with each new trainer level, you will also get several items that will enable you to unlock powerful Pokeballs and other things. That being said, there are many ways to increase you XP gains and here is an overview of those ways.

Double your XP gains

In order to double your XP gains, you’ll first need a Lucky Egg. When you activate the egg, you receive an XP boost and it will also enable you to double all of your XP gains in the next 30 minutes. This means that you have to time your moves very well.

You’ll get a Lucky Egg as soon as you reach the following levels: 9, 10, 15, 20, 25.

Collect every Pidgey, Caterpie and Weedle

Another very effective way of gaining XP is to evolve several Pokemon one after another right after you’ve activated the aforementioned Lucky Egg. The XP gains in this situation can be up to 1000 XP.

The Pidgey, Caterpie and Weedle Pokemon take the least amount of Candy to evolve which is why you should catch em’ all. They’re also very common so you should have no problem encountering them.

Various other ways to gain XP

If you are in no position of doing all of the above, keep in mind that there are so many other activities that will grant you XP points such as: catching Pokemon, interacting with any Pokestop, winning a Gym training session or a battle, hatching and evolving Pokemon.

Lastly, the best way to gain XP is to activate a Lucky Egg in an area that has many Pokestops.
