We got to hear a lot about the upcoming improved PS4 Pro console at the PlayStation Meeting and we also saw a lot of game announcements. One of those game announcements was made by EA and BioWare about the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda.
The game’s developers promised a while ago that they will release a gameplay demonstration for the fourth installment in the series and the PS4 Pro console unveiling was the perfect opportunity to do so.
That being said, the press members that were present at the event got to see the gameplay on the brand new PlayStation 4 Pro. The footage presents one the characters exploring the game environment and Aaryn Flynn, BioWare general manager, urges the viewers to watch it on a 4k screen otherwise there’s no point in watching it at all.
The particular gameplay scene was chosen to be showcased by BioWare because, if watched on a 4k screen, the characters and environment offer a very immersive experience. The footage can be seen here.
BioWare stated that the new Sony console enables them to bring a new galaxy to life that will feature HDR10 support, better visuals and very lifelike characters. They also stated that they will release a new trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda but there will be more information about that revealed on the 7th of November 2016.
The upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda is scheduled for release sometime in early 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game takes place after the events in the third Mass Effect instalment and features a new protagonist by the name of Ryder. His mission as a Pathfinder is to find a new planet to be colonized by humanity. It’s expected to be an open world environment and gamers will be able to play as either a male or a female character.
