Sharing is caring!

If you’re new to the world of mobile messaging, you’ll probably assume that people are talking about the same thing when they say “WhatsApp”, “WhatsApp Plus”, and “WhatsApp Blue”. But this isn’t really the case; if you look closer, you’ll see that these three programs are completely different.

WhatsApp is the original mobile application that was developed by Jan Kuom and Brian Acton. It was founded in 2009 and acquired by Facebook in 2014. WhatsApp has built a user base of around one billion as of February 2016 and has hosted over one million voice calls as of June 2016, mainly due to the fact that its services are free and it’s available in many countries around the world.

WhatsApp Plus and WhatsApp Blue, meanwhile, are what we call “modded apps”. This means that they were modeled after WhatsApp and have similar functions and capabilities as the original, although they also have features that are not available in WhatsApp App.

The Pros and Cons of Using WhatsApp

One of the biggest benefits of using the original WhatsApp is security. Kuom, Acton, and their team are highly concerned about online security and privacy, and they’re taking steps to keep their users safe. One of their latest moves is end-to-end encryption, which ensures that the messages you send on WhatsApp will be received only by your intended recipients. No one — not even the WhatsApp staff — will be able to access your messages.

Another benefit of using WhatsApp is that it’s fairly easy to install. Just download it from the Google Play Store or the official WhatsApp website and you’re good to go.

The downside of using WhatsApp is that you’ll get only the features that the WhatsApp staff include in the application. There’s no room for you to choose colors, background images, and other things and customize the app to your liking.

The Pros and Cons of Using WhatsApp Plus

You can think of WhatsApp Plus as an improved version of WhatsApp. While this might sound unfair to WhatsApp App, the fact is that WhatsApp Plus has several features that are not available in the original version. One of these is the presence of numerous customized themes, which allow you to choose from hundreds of “skins” and personalize the colors and background of your interface. Another is the ability to customize the file size that you’d send, allowing you to share bigger files (such as longer videos) with your friends.

The problem with using WhatsApp Plus is that you can be banned by WhatsApp for using it. It can also expose you to security risks since WhatsApp has not authorized it and cannot guarantee the privacy of people who use WhatsApp Plus.

The Pros and Cons of Using WhatsApp Blue

WhatsApp Blue, another modded app, stands out from the rest because of its distinct blue color — a completely different color scheme from the green palette used in WhatsApp App. WhatsApp Blue comes with features that are not available in the original WhatsApp, such as additional HD Google emojis and customized icons for messages, incoming calls, and settings. One of the best things about it is that it’s anti-ban, which means you can’t get banned by WhatsApp when you use it.

However, just like with other modded apps, WhatsApp Blue comes with security risks. There’s always the chance that your private information would be exposed to the wrong people since the app’s developers are not as stringent as WhatsApp’s developers.

The Verdict

WhatsApp App is the best choice if you want to chat with your friends without having to worry about online security. If customization is important to you, you’ll want to experiment with WhatsApp Plus, WhatsApp Blue, and other modded apps that offer creative ways to personalize their interface.
