Blizzard – the company responsible for WoW and the Diablo game series – has hinted that it will make an announcement at the upcoming BlizzCon event which will take place on the 4th and 5th of November in Anaheim. Many gamers believe that the company will be unveiling the highly anticipated, fourth installment in the Diablo game series: Diablo 4.
When we say that the company hinted towards that, we refer to a tweet on the Diablo official account stating that Blizzard will be very ‘cool this year’. This mysterious tweet combines with other hints that the company has made in the past year about a project they’ve been working on has led Diablo fans to assume that the fourth installment in the game is almost here.
There are also some rumors that Blizzard will not announce a Diablo 4, but instead will unveil a remake of Diablo 2 and that the former has been put on hold for a while.
At the same time, many gamers have been waiting for an expansion for Diablo 3, but that hasn’t happened yet and many believe that it is due to the fact that many of the original dev team members have left the project or are now working on other games developed by Blizzard. This is also the reason why Blizzard has posted job announcements for various positions such as: game director, senior animator, senior character artist or senior concept artist.
Of course, given that we do not have any official statement from the company in this sense, all we can do is wait for BlizzCon and see what happens. BlizzCon is a convention held by Blizzard Entertainment every year since 2005 and it’s meant to be a way of launching or announcing their latest products. This means that whether or not there will be any talks about the anticipated Diablo 4, there will definitely be some other big game unveiling.
