Sharing is caring!

With WhatsApp being a largely popular messaging platform, it is only expected that you want to install this app on your tablet as well. However, it is currently only available for smartphones. But there are some ways to work around the limitations and get WhatsApp for your Android or iOS tab.

For Android Tablets

You should download and install the WhatsApp APK file because the app won’t be presented to you if you search for it on Google Play store on your Wi-Fi only device. Just search for ‘WhatsApp APK’ on your browser and look for a reliable download site. In order to install the APK file you downloaded, go to Settings > Security > Device Administration, then enable ‘Unknown sources’. After successfully installing WhatsAPP APK, you can disable that security option.

You will then have to bypass the phone verification step. Just enter your phone number, click ‘OK’, wait for the SMS verification on your smartphone, enter the code and don’t be surprised to receive a prompt that it can’t be detected. Around after 5 minutes, you’ll get an option to use voice verification. Click ‘Call Me’, answer the call on your phone, wait for the verification, enter the code on your tablet, and WhatsApp is ready for use on your Android tab.

For iPad

For iOS tablets with 8.0 OS versions or later, you can go to the iTunes store, Look for the messenger app for WhatsApp iPad Chat Version, then download and install it in your device. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone, go to Settings > WhatsApp Web > Scan the QR Code you’ll see in this app, and you’ll connect to the WhatsApp on your tab. This Chat Messenger for WhatsApp is a native wrapper for WhatsApp Webb so you can use all the regular functions on your iPad, such as chatting, sending photos and videos, and more.

WhatsApp is getting better and better, especially with a video call feature looming in the horizon, so it’s beneficial to have this app in your mobile devices.
