Microsoft has released the Xbox One console in November 2013 at a controversial price of $499. Meanwhile, its price was halved and in case you haven’t purchased this console yet, now it’s the time to make a small investment and get rid of your old Xbox 360. There are many games that are now compatible with the Xbox One, but there are many other advantages which should convince you to buy this console and in this article, we’ll tell you about the most important features.
For starters, if you reached a certain point in your favorite game and want to save your progress to continue playing the game at your friend’s house, then upload the copy of that save file in cloud storage.
However, if you’re experiencing caps on home data usage and want to make sure that your game doesn’t eat up too much data, head to Settings > Network > Bandwidth Usage. Also, you shouldn’t throw away some of your old games for Xbox 360, because they might be included in the list of 200 compatible games that can be played on the Xbox One. Moreover, Microsoft allows you to resume the game from your Xbox 360 and you can start playing from where you left off, on the Xbox One console. This can be done by going to Settings > System > Storage > Cloud Saved Games and selecting Enable. Before enabling cloud saving on your old Xbox 360, become an Xbox Live Gold member. Then start playing the game sand select Cloud Saved Games when you save your progress.
In case you didn’t know, you can use your mobile device as a controller by downloading the Xbox One SmartGlass app to your phone or tablet and connecting to the same WiFi network as the Xbox One. You will need to select the Connect icon from the top of the screen and then select your Xbox. Now, you will be able to type using the phone’s keyboard, and to view your screenshots and achievements.
Also, if you’ve upgraded your PC to Windows 10, you can stream Xbox One games to it. To do this, you will need to enable streaming on your Xbox One by going to Settings > Preferences and selecting “Allow game streaming to other devices”. Then, you will select “Enable the SmartGlass connection from any SmartGlass device” and you’ll use your PC to connect your Xbox app to your console. Select the game that you want to play on your PC and click on “Play from console.”
