Dedicated fans of The Sims series are currently left wondering about the future of The Sims 5; the next game in the series is expected to be released in 2019. The Sims series follows a 5 year gap between each game and assuming EA plans to follow this tradition then the game will be released in 2019.

According to reports from earlier this year, EA revealed that the future of The Sims depended on the sales for The Sims 4. The game did not reach the projected sales and has received a relatively low ranking as a result; the game isn’t very popular among gamers but EA is still dedicated to supporting the game with new DLC and expansions.

When The Sims 4 was first released, it was plagued with DRM issues that and coupled with the low reviews the game didn’t stand much of a chance when it was first released. This has placed a major strain on the future of the game series.

While there is no official news about The Sims 5 yet, there are plenty of rumors about the upcoming life simulation game.

The Sims 5 is expected for a console release; rumors state that the game will be released for the next generation of consoles and that it will be bundled with them once they’re released. The next console generation currently has a 2018-2020 release date estimation and if this is correct then The Sims 5 will most likely be bundled with them.

It’s thought that the game will integrate VR into the gameplay however there is currently no information about how EA plans to implement this into a The Sims game; considering the game will be released on the next generation of consoles, it’s possible that players will be able to view their Sims lives in first person.

More news about the future of The Sims series will be released over the next few years; players should expect EA to release more details about The Sims 5 as 2019 approaches.
