Yesterday, we saw the launch of a new update for Fallout Shelter which added new quests and it even came with a visit from Bottle and Cappy – two Nuka World amusement park characters.

Fallout Shelter is the first mobile game developed by Bethesda and it’s currently available as a free-to-play game on PC, iOS and Android based devices. A report from June says that the game is a huge success having been downloaded approximately 50 million times. The game also features microtransactions.

The update brings a lot of new quests which imply that the Overseer must send his dwellers into the wasteland for various reasons such as combat or exploration. The update which goes by the version 1.7 also features a new type of quest that begins every Friday. However, this isn’t the only new type of quest. There are also special event quests and holiday quests.

At the same time, if you feel like skipping a quest, the update will now enable players to do so but it will require currency.

Another new feature that comes with the 1.7 update is a number of new objectives for gameplay that will enable players to earn their much needed resources.

As for the visit from the two Nuka World characters, Bethesda said that in order to celebrate the Nuka World DLC launch for Fallout 4, the Fallout Shelter players will be receiving a Special Event Quest (the first of many). This quest is a Nuka World themed one and upon completion it will allow the two Cappy and Bottle characters to make an appearance in the Vault. Once they are there, players can tap them and they will be rewarded with Nuka Cola Quantum and Caps.

It appears that Bethesda is set on making more mobile games as Fallout Shelter has proven to be very profitable, bringing in millions from microtransactions alone.
