A few days ago, we’ve told you about the introduction of GIFs to WhatsApp application. Well, today we can confirm that you can now create and send GIFs on WhatsApp.
It is good to know that this feature is found currently only on the latest WhatsApp BETA version for Android devices, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. However, we will tell you more about how you can do that later in this article.
While using the WhatsApp BETA version on your Android device, you will notice that you have the ability to record a normal video and before sending it to any contact it may also become a GIF. However, soon enough, you will be allowed to send GIFs by selecting them from your own gallery.
How To Create And Send GIFs From WhatsApp On Android Devices
If you want to create a GIF and send it to any of your contact, here are the steps that you will need to take:
- Record a video or select it from WhatsApp Gallery
- Trim the video to last 6 seconds max
- Touch the camera icon to switch to GIF
- Press send.
However, keep in mind that it is still a video that has been labeled internally like a GIF to auto-play in loop in the preview. So, after all, it’s not actually a real GIF, but we hope to see the full GIF support added to the WhatsApp application sometime in the near future.
Let’s not forget that rumors say that the developers of WhatsApp are currently working on the Video Calling feature which is expected to be added sometime in the near future to the application.
How To Install The Latest WhatsApp BETA Version On Your Android Device
First of all, you will need to become a WhatsApp BETA tester on the official Android store by heading to the Google Play Store webpage and tapping on the “BECOME A TESTER” button. After that, just open the Google Play Store, search for the latest WhatsApp BETA version and install it on your Android device.
Do you think that full GIF support will be brought to the WhatsApp application sometime soon?
