Huawei has released its G8 handset back in October 2015, while the G9 Plus is expected to arrive on August 25, 2016. Today we will compare these two smartphones and let you decide if you want to wait until the end of August to purchase the G9 Plus or head directly to the store and ask for the G8 handset.
The Huawei G8 measures 152×76.5×7.5mm and weights 167 grams. On the other hand, the Huawei G9 Plus is slightly slimmer and lighter as it measures 151.8×75.7×7.3mm and weights 160 grams. Both phablets have a metal uni body available in Black, White or Gold colors, with a square rear camera and a fingerprint scanner below it.
Both devices come with an IPS LCD display of 5.5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 401 ppi.

The Huawei G8 features a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, an Adreno 405 graphics card and 2GB of 3GB of RAM. The Huawei G9 Plus is a bit more powerful, as it houses a newer Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, an octa-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz, an Adreno 506 graphics card and 3GB or 4GB of RAM.
The Huawei G8 has been released in two internal storage variants of 16GB and 32GB which you can expand it up to 64GB using a microSD card. The Huawei P9 Plus will come in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, but you will be able to expand it up to 256GB using a microSD card.
The Huawei G8 sports a primary camera of 13MP that features OIS, dual-LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, face detection, touch focus and a secondary camera of 5MP. The Huawei G9 Plus has a better primary camera of 16MP that features geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a secondary camera of 8MP.
The Huawei G8 is powered by a non-removable battery of 3000 mAh which is weaker than the non-removable 3340 mAh battery that the Huawei G9 Plus has.
