The WhatsApp 2.16.233 BETA for Android devices has just been released and today we will talk about it. Yesterday we’ve told you about some functions that have been added to the application related to GIFs. Well, it seems that the developers are still working on these functions, as we’ve seen a new file added to the APK file related to GIFs.

Now the developers have introduced a function that will allow us to view a preview of the GIF that has been sent to us. The WhatsApp 2.16.233 APK (installation) file has been decreased by 34KB, it has 475 modified files and a new file named “gif_video_preview.xml” that’s related to the activity of sending GIFs.

Unfortunately, there is no news regarding the rumored Video Calling feature. We’re not sure why it is taking so long for the developers to bring this feature to the application. However, whether they like it or not, they will be “forced” to bring it to WhatsApp in order to keep up the pace with other rival applications.
