A new WhatsApp BETA version for Android devices has been released. The WhatsApp 2.16.232 is the latest BETA version of this application for Android OS. The update doesn’t seem to come with any new feature, but we can confirm that there are enough internal changes that you should know about.

According to the code that has been found inside the APK file, we can say that the developers are currently working on functions to send GIFs and to invite groups via links. Actually, these functions are getting ready to be activated, which means that it shouldn’t take too long until we will finally see them available on our WhatsApp application.



The WhatsApp 2.16.232 APK files has been increased by 110 Kb, it has over 500 modified files, most of them related to the functions of the application files. In addition, 2 new files have been added, which are related to the function of sending GIFs (activity_gif_preview2.xml) and a new library for GIFs (libpl_droidsonroids_gif.so).

WhatsApp 2.16.232: How To Install On Your Android Device

As we’ve told you above, the WhatsApp 2.16.232 is currently in BETA phase. In other words, you will have to either manually install it on your Android device or join the WhatsApp BETA Testing program on the Google Play Store and install it from the official Android store.

To make things easier, we suggest you to become a WhatsApp BETA Tester on the Android store. To do this, open this Google Play Store webpage and tap on the “BECOME A TESTER” button. After you do this, just open the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone, search for WhatsApp 2.16.232 and install it on your mobile device.

HINT: When the installation is complete, you will need to use your mobile phone number in order to log into your WhatsApp account.
