Samsung has released a new update for its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge flagships and it’s now rolling out to Italian users. One of the additions is Samsung Cloud, which will allow users to back up their data to the cloud, using their Samsung accounts.

The update weighs in at 151.89 MB and it’s available over-the-air, but you can also grab it by heating to Settings > About device and hit the Download updates manually button. Another way to get this update is via Samsung’s Smart Switch software, but you will download it to your PC, then copy it to your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge and manually install it. Samsung has included the security updates from the month of July, it improved the performance of Bluetooth and NFC.

This is an interesting move from Samsung, as the cloud service was released for the Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, via a software update, ahead of the Note 7’s retail availability, but in the near future, this service will be also offered to users of every Galaxy device. Most likely, each user will get 15GB of free storage to save data on the cloud.

This year, the pair consisting of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge came with different screen sizes, as Samsung has decided to no longer release a Plus version of the model with a dual-edge screen. So, the flat version has a 5.1-inch QHD screen with a 577 ppi pixel density, while the dual edge screen variant measures 5.5-inch and it supports 534 ppi. Both devices have a glass and metal design and have their internal components protected against dust and water.

Samsung has released the S7 and S7 edge in two variants of hardware configurations, which can be found in select regions. So, one of the variants uses a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset with a Quad-core (2×2.15 GHz Kryo & 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) processor backed by an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM, while the other variant uses the manufacturer’s proprietary Exynos 8890 chipset with an Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Mongoose & 4×1.6 GHz Cortex-A53) processor backed by a Mali-T880 MP12 GPU and 4GB of RAM. Fans can buy either the 32GB or 64GB model, then add a microSM card to expand the internal memory up to 256GB. The primary camera of 16MP takes high quality pictures, but the front camera of 5MP is not disappointing either.
