If you enjoy Google’s famous Nexus line of smartphones, then you’ll be excited to find out that the company is releasing not one, not two, but three devices this year. How do we know that? Well, recent reports say that beside the Nexus Marlin and Nexus Sailfish, there will be a Nexus 7 coming up in August. Rumors say that the flagship is set to bring to the world Android Nougat, the 7.0 version of Google’s operating system.
Let’s break down the reasons for why people think so. Firstly, the last beta version of Android N was released a few days ago to developers, so this is a sign that the OS is ready to go. We can only assume that the OS will be released in August or early September, when Apple also has their launching event.
Another piece of evidence that there will be a new device from Google in the nearest weeks is that the company is conducting a sale on their Google Nexus 9 tablet. Companies tend to drop the price on other devices, when they have a flagship coming up.
Rumors go even further with this alleged Nexus 7 device by speculating on specifications. Apparently, the device will hold up 128GB of internal storage, which is not that surprising considering that its predecessor, the Nexus 6P held up large amounts of memory as well. As for processor, people have been guessing that the Snapdragon 820 chip will show off on the device, as most flagships today have.
However, don’t take these speculations for granted. Although we know from experience Google releases the newer version of Android on their Nexus phones, Google hasn’t confirmed any of the rumors for Nexus 7.
