Sharing is caring!

A new WhatsApp version has been released and today we’re going to talk about it. The latest WhatsApp BETA version for Android devices is 2.16.229 and even if it doesn’t come with any major apparent changes, the code shows an upcoming feature that will most likely be activated sometime in the near future.

According to the code line, WhatsApp will alert you if you violate copyright images that you have shared in some of your chats. We’re not sure why WhatsApp will bring this kind of feature on its application, but it seems that the developer was somehow “forced” to do this, as some users were using copyright images to post them in group chats.

The APK (installation) file of the WhatsApp 2.16.229 BETA has been decreased by 8KB, 4 thumbnail files have been removed and 160 files have been modified. We didn’t see anything inside the APK file that would make us believe that the rumored Video Calling feature is coming soon to the application, so it seems that we need to wait a bit longer for this feature.

WhatsApp 2.16.229 BETA: How To Install On Your Android Smartphone

First of all, you should know that the WhatsApp 2.16.229 is in BETA phase, which means that you will most likely find errors, bugs and other annoying issues while using this version of the application. In other words, if you want to have a bug-free WhatsApp application, we suggest you to install the latest STABLE version of WhatsApp.

However, if you still want to install the WhatsApp 2.16.229 BETA on your Android device, you should know that firstly you will need to become a WhatsApp BETA on the Google Play Store. To do this, open the Google Play Store page and tap on the “BECOME A TESTER” button. Once you do this, you will just need to open the official Android store, search for WhatsApp 2.16.229 and install it on your Android smartphone.
