While it was mentioned a while back that there would be no The Sims 5 if the current game, The Sims 4, doesn’t sell well; rumors suggest that EA is already looking at the next game in the series and is currently focused on it.
Games in The Sims series are typically released with a four/five year gap between them and considering The Sims 4 was released in 2014, we can expect the next game in the series to be released by 2019 at the latest; it’s also possible the game will be released in 2018.
Rumors state that the game will be released with the next console generation and bundled versions will exist; this news followed the confirmation that The Sims 4 will not be released on consoles. The next console generation is expected to be released some time between 2017-2019.
It’s uncertain how true this is but there are also reports suggesting that EA intends to integrate VR into the game; it’s difficult to know how this would work but considering that most large developers are now looking into VR, this is certainly a possibility.
Fans of the popular life simulation series should expect to see more news about the game in the following year as the expected 2018-2019 release date comes closer.
