A new WhatsApp BETA version has been released for Android smartphones and today we’re going to talk about it. The new WhatsApp 2.16.224 BETA comes with a new screen when you will forward a message and the screen of “Forward to” is divided in: Recent chats, Other contacts and Frequent Chats.

The WhatsApp 2.16.224 APK (installation) file has been increased with 49Kb, it has 428 modified files related to the application’s functions. In addition, two new files have been added (mentions_row.xml and mentions_list.xml).

As expected, the new WhatsApp 2.16.224 BETA comes with usual bug fixes and stability improvements. Unfortunately, the Video Calling feature is still not making its way to the application as we haven’t discovered any file related to this feature. However, there are reports suggesting that the developers are currently working on the Video Calling feature and that it will be added sometime in the near future.

WhatsApp 2.16.224 BETA: How To Install On Your Android Device

The WhatsApp 2.16.224 is currently in BETA phase which means that you will need to join the WhatsApp BETA Testing program on the Google Play Store in order to install it directly from the official Android store.

In order to become a WhatsApp BETA tester, head to Google Play Store web page and tap on the “BECOME A TESTER” button. Once you become a WhatsApp BETA tester on Google Play Store, open the official Android store, search for WhatsApp 2.16.224 and install it on your device.

HINT: We remind you that since the WhatsApp 2.16.224 update is currently in BETA phase, you might encounter many annoying bugs and issues. If you find any bugs or issues, we suggest you to report them to the developers. By doing this, you will help them improve the application before a new stable WhatsApp version will be released.
