Do you own Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4? If you do, you’re in for a real treat since the Redmond-based tech giant has released the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. The update is applicable for all devices that are running on Windows 10 but, if you look at the features that it brings, you’ll see that it’s highly suited for 2-in-1 computers such as the Surface Pro 4.
One of the features that comes with the update is Windows Ink, which makes full use of the Surface Pro 4’s touchscreen capability. Windows Ink helps you find mobile applications (both built-in and third-party) that work with your stylus, which makes it easier to learn about the available apps and download those that fit your needs. It lets you jot down notes, reminders, and grocery lists with ease, create doodles on a sketchpad, and draw over screen grabs. It even has an intuitively designed ruler for when you need to draw straight lines.
The Anniversary Update also brings along improvements for its digital assistant Cortana. You can now use it even without logging in, which means you can ask Cortana to set a reminder or play a song even when you’re in the lock screen.
If you own or manage a business or work in a corporation, you’ll appreciate the Project to PC feature, which allows you to project what you see on your display through another computer. It’s a great way to let colleagues see a report, graph, or design without giving them access to its contents. If you frequently travel, you’ll love the Automatic Time Zone Setting, which automatically changes your device’s time zone as you travel from one country to another.
The Windows 10 Anniversary Update can be downloaded through Windows Update. If you can’t wait for it to be made available for your Surface Pro 4, read this guide to know how to get the ISO.
